RESIDENTIAL ROAD SWEEPING
ROTA CALL - DEVLIN

February 2006

Local Fianna Fáil County Councillor, Cormac Devlin has followed up on a previous motion for a rota to be established so residential area's will know what date that their roads are due to be swept on. The following motion was tabled at the February Area Committee Meeting:

Question:    Councillor Cormac Devlin
“To ask the Manager to report back on the success of a "Road Sweeping Rota" for residential area's in this County (as previously raised in early 2005)?”

Reply:
In most areas the Road Sweeping Rota is working reasonably well. However some problems remain mainly due to poor access. Increased volumes of Litter have also been problematic despite the increased number of Litter Bins and more overtime being worked. These areas are being monitored and traffic/car parking patterns are being taken into account in trying to improve the efficiency of the service.
