"CUMBERLAND INN SITE - DEVELOPER MUST
SECURE & CLEAN-UP SITE" - DEVLIN

Councillor for Dún Laoghaire, Cormac Devlin has insisted and has secured an enforcement notice which has been sent by Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council to the owner/developer of the former Cumberland Inn Pub (on Cumberland Street and Clarence Street). The notice requests him/her to secure and clean-up the ugly eyesore that once was the Cumberland Inn Public House. "This prominent site which is on the entrance into Dún Laoghaire Town must be kept in a better condition if there are no immediate plans to re-develop same. It is not fair nor right for local residents to have to contend with this dilapidated building on their doorsteps and therefore it must be cleaned up as quickly as possible" according to Cllr. Devlin. The developer now must comply with the enforcement notice or face penalties including remedial works which he/she must pay for (if carried out by the Council on his/her behalf).
