The following are the proposed changes;

#7 Bus - The proposal is to operate a bus every 15 minutes with half of them departing from Loughlinstown Park and the others from Cherrywood. The biggest change is the removal of the service through the Sallynoggin area. The proposal is to re-route the #7 down the Sallyglen Road (between the Graduate Roundabout to the Sallynoggin Roundabout). I have informed Dublin Bus that any time that Dublin Bus are considering saving by re-routing the bus will be lost due to the ever increasing back-up of morning rush hour traffic which backs up past the Dalkey School Project. I believe it would be quicker to keep the existing route through Sallynoggin. The City Centre bound buses will no longer go through Blackrock Village either and will remain on the Blackrock Bypass. As a result, a new bus stop is being proposed along this section of road.

#45A - While the timetable is not due to change, this service (Kilmacanogue - Dún Laoghaire Town) is now expected to service the Sallynoggin area replacing the #7 which is to be removed however instead of the 45A going from Rochestown Avenue onto Sallynoggin Road (down past Maxol Petrol Station) it will re-route through Rochestown Park and down Pearse Street. This will see no bus service the National Rehabilitation Hospital, Rochestown House (sheltered accommodation for the elderly) or residents of Sallynoggin Park/O'Rourke Park/Rollins Villas going in the direction of Dún Laoghaire.

#59 - This bus route is being removed from Killiney Village and will take over mainly from the #8 bus route (which is being removed). The new route would see the bus service Loughlinstown Hospital via Glasthule, Sandycove, Dalkey and Killiney. It will operate every 30 minutes. The addition of Loughlinstown Hospital is welcome but it's removal from Killiney Village is not acceptable.

#7B - This purely commuter service runs between Shankill and Mountjoy Square but will now only operate on a peak time basis Monday - Friday.

#63 - The frequency of this service is not due to change however the bus is proposed to be removed from Clonkeen Road and re-routed through along the N11 to Cabinteely and turn down Johnstown Road and onto Pottery Road and continue onto Dún Laoghaire Town.

#111 - This service is proposed to be discontinued.

#7D - The proposed change on this route would be the diversion of the bus at Bakers Corner and re-route it along the Monkstown Ring Road (via Stradbrook Hill) and onto the N11.

#8 - This route would be amalgamated into the #59 between Loughlinstown Hospital via Dalkey & Killiney villages (as above).

** DEADLINE WAS FRIDAY 14th AUGUST - I'D STILL ENCOURAGE YOU TO MAKE A SUBMISSION **

I am completely opposed to any reduction in the bus services for our area. I believe that many of these proposals would have a detrimental affect on bus users across the area. Dublin Bus must refrain from implementing the majority of these changes and engage in meaningful dialogue with the public as to what changes are required. Please post and share this page on Facebook or Twitter so more people will send a submission.

The deadline for the consultation was Friday 14th August. There was an information day held in the Dún Laoghaire Shopping Centre on Friday 31st July.

The review covers the following bus routes; 7, 45A, 59 , 7B, 63, 111, 7D & 8. To view the document click here.
