INFORMATION EVENING MEETING ORGANISED FOR LOCAL RESIDENTS' ABOUT PROPOSED NURSING HOME

Google
Local Councillor Cormac Devlin has arranged an Information Evening for local residents' to view and give feedback on the proposed nursing home development by PegasusLife along Barnhill Road.

The planning application (D15A/0051) for the Dalkey Manor site (between The Rise and The Metals) along Barnhill Road is set to close for submissions on Thursday 5th March. The cost of making an observation / objection is €20.00 per submission.

Cllr Devlin said "In December 2014 the owners of the site, PegasusLife held a series of public consultation days with local residents informing them of their intended plans. This was held in Dalkey Town Hall and I attended too. I believe people are generally acceptable to a nursing home on this site however the height and scale of this proposal is cause for concern of neighbouring properties. I note that the Dalkey Community Council held a meeting in February on this issue howver as a local Councillor, I am interested to hear the views and feedback from local residents on this application, in particular those residents that border the site".

The meeting to discuss and view the plans is set to take place on Monday, 2nd March at 8pm in McDonagh’s Public House. If you would like to view the plans, please click here to view the plans online.

The plan proposes the demolition of the existing house (Dalkey Manor) and the construction of a new specialised 'later living' / retirement complex in its place. It consists of 6 x four story blocks with a recessed 5th floor level. It proposes 57 x units all with private a balcony/terrace (8 x 1 bedrooms, 48 x 2 bedroom & 1 x 3 bedroom unit) with basement parking for 69 cars and 5 surface spaces for visitors. All communal facilities will be on the basement, ground or 4th floor level which includes a gym, wellness suite, dining area, reflection & relaxation rooms, physical therapy/care suites, staff facilities, guest accommodation unit and a resident's lounge.
