DEVLIN RUBBISHES FINE GAEL CLAIM THAT FUNDING FROM GOVERNMENT IS REQUIRED FOR POTTERY ROAD RESTORATION PROGRAMME:

Councillor Devlin has rubbished claims made by a Fine Gael politician that funding from central Government is required for the proposed (yet much needed!) road & footpath     up-grade of Pottery Road. Cllr. Devlin has been battling for the up-grade for over 5 years and states that Fine Gael & Labour are in power on the Council - "if they really wanted the road & footpaths repaired, then they should find the money elsewhere as there are still funds available for such schemes within the County Council.

DEVLIN RAISES CONCERNS OF RESIDENTS OVER SPRING GROVE EXPANSION PLANS:

Councillor Cormac Devlin raised the concerns of local residents in Clonkeen Grove & Crescent about the proposed increase of operational hours (to a 24 hour plant) at the Spring Grove laundry. For more information please click here

COUNCILLOR DEVLIN VOTES AGAINST CLAMPING IN THE COUNTY:

Councillor Devlin voted against the clamping proposal by Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council. Cormac reminded Management that "it is elected representatives that make the decisions....not Management". He is critical of his fellow Councillors (particularly the Green Party) who voted in-favour of clamping. Read More.

DEVLIN WELCOMES EU-WIDE BAN ON DOG & CAT FUR

Dun Laoghaire based Councillor and ISPCA member; Cormac Devlin has welcomed the news that no goods sold or imported into the European Union will contain fur from dogs and cats. Read more.
DEVLIN WELCOMES REDUCTION IN ROAMING CHARGES BY EU FROM 1st JULY:

Councillor Devlin Starting from July 1st, the cost of making a call, sending a text or data while roaming within the EU will fall dramatically thanks to the decision by MEP's this week. All calls,  texts and data service costs will be reduced from 28c to just 11c. Read more.

UPDATE: COUNCIL REFUSE PERMISSION FOR ALDI TO BUILD APARTMENT BLOCKS:

Local Councillor, Cormac Devlin has welcomed the victory won by residents again Aldi who planned to build a visually improper and overshawoing development on the Old Bray Road.  The planners noted that the proposed development was not in-keeping with surrounding properties and did not enhance the area

DEVLIN SEEKS RESIDENTS VIEWS ON A PROPOSED PLAYGROUND IN MEADOWVALE:

Local Councillor Cormac Devlin is looking for residents of the Clonkeen area to tell him if they want/do not want a playground in the area. The Council were examining building one in Meadowvale (beside the tennis courts on the linear park). An initial survey of houses in that estate was pracitically split 50/50 so Cllr. DEVLIN SUPPORTS RESIDENTS OF CLONKEEN CRESCENT & CLONKEEN GROVE ON THEIR SPRING GROVE PLANNING APPEAL:

Councillor Devlin who has been supporting the residents of Clonkeen Crescent and Grove in their battle to prevent the laundry service Spring Grove from expanding their operations on the existing site (Pottery Road). "Local residents' have genuine fears and concerns about noise and smells emanating from this site on an ongoing bases" said Cllr. Devlin. Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council recently granted planning permission for this new development however the residents' held a meeting requesting that Councillors support them in their appeal to An Bord Pleanála. Councillor Devlin is submitting a supporting letter.
