PUBLIC CONSULTATION ON MERRION GATE / ROCK ROAD INTERSECTION EXTENDED:
The National Transporation Authority (NTA) has extended its consultation period on the proposed changes to the Merrion Gate / Rock Road junction until Tuesday 31st January. Cllr. Devlin is encouraging all interested parties to make a free submission. For more information click here

COUNCIL SEEKS COMMENTS ON PLANS FOR HUDSON ROAD FIELD, GLASTHULE

PLANNING APPLICATIONS LODGED FOR BULLOCH HARBOUR SITE
Cllr. Devlin attended a public meeting organised by the Bullock Harbour Preservation Association which was attended by over 400 local residents. At the meeting, Cllr. Devlin outlined his opposition to the plans and confirmed he was lodging his own observation to both applications. He is organising an Information Evening on Wednesday 11th January at 8pm upstairs in the Club Public House, Dalkey to give further information on the proposals and to assist individuals wishing to make an observation. PROPOSED TRAFFIC CALMING ALONG COMMONS ROAD, SHANKILL
Cllr. Devlin has advised local residents of the proposed plan by the Council to install traffic calming measures along the Commons Road. The deadline for public submissions on this scheme is Friday 13th January. Click here for more information and to make a free online submission.

PLANNING PERMISSION REFUSED FOR BULLOCH HARBOUR
Having lodged my own objection to both plans, I was pleased that Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown Council refused permission for the demolition and development of the former Western Marine site at Bulloch Harbour. 285 submission were received in opposition to the proposed development while 175 were opposed to plans to demolish sections of the site. The developer may appeal to An Bord Pleanala however I welcome the decision by the Council for refusal as I believe it's the right one. DALKEY MANOR PLANNING APPLICATION INFORMATION EVENING

COUNCIL REFUSES PLANNING PERMISSION FOR DALKEY MANOR SITE:
The planners in Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council have refused planning permission to build 29 town houses on the former Dalkey Manor site on Barnhill Road. There were 23 residential objections and 1 observation from the Department of Arts, Heritage and Gaeltacht owing to the presence of a protected structure, Dalkey Lodge. Plans to demolish houses at #230 & #234 and the development of 19 apartments and 5 x 4 bedroom houses behind the houses in Bellevue Road, Bellevue Avenue & Glenageary Hall. HAVE YOUR SAY ON THE LOCAL PROPERTY TAX (LPT):
Have your say on the Local Property Tax (LPT) in Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council. Every year Councillors have the opportunity to increase, decrease the LPT by a maximum of 15% or keep the rate the same. Make your free submission here before Tuesday 15th August
THE NATIONAL REHABILITATION HOSPITAL (NRH) DÚN LAOGHAIRE COMMENCES CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW €68M, 120 BED UNIT
Tonight the NRH announced that John Paul Construction were the winning firm that will build the NRH's new, 120 bed unit (Phase I). The second phase which still does not have funding approval yet negociations are still on-going between the NRH and the HSE. This phase could cost approximately €50-€60m but would bring the bed capactiy up from the current 108 to 235 much needed beds. The staff at the NRH provide excellent care to their patients on a daily basis, despite the old building that they work in. COUNCIL ROAD WORKS ALONG THE WYATVILLE ROAD DUAL CARRIAGEWAY
The Council is advising local residents that works on the Wyattville Road Pedestrian and Cycle Improvement Scheme (between Wyattville Close and Churchview Road) are expected to continue until May 2018. From Wednesday 27th September at 9:30am until Friday 29th September at 5pm the slow lane (inbound) will be closed. This is to facilitate the laying of the final kerb stones (on that side of the road) between the Old Wyattville Road and Churchview Road (click on image on the left to see the lane closure). YOUR FIANNA FÁIL PUSH FOR & DELIVER A
15% REDUCTION IN THE LOCAL PROPERTY TAX
Your Fianna Fáil on Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council have continued to deliver on our pledge to reduce the Local Property Tax (LPT) where possible on an annual basis. "This unfair, inequitable tax must be reviewed" according to Cllr. Devlin. We are the only mainstream political party to continuously push for a reduction of the LPT on our Council. Read more here

Cllr. Devlin is advising all sports, community, arts, heritage and business groups/organisations operating within Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown to apply for the latest round of Council grants for 2018. The deadline for applying for this grant is Friday 13th October at 5pm. There are a number of information mornings/evening going to be held to help and guide groups through the application process. DEVLIN WELCOMES DALKEY & KILLINEY'S
INCLUSION IN THE COUNTY PILOT BIKE SCHEME
Cormac Devlin has welcomed the announcement by Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council that the first ever bike scheme is going to be introduced on a pilot basis from early November. Cllr. TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE OF VICTORIA ROAD FOR 1 WEEK IN DECEMBER:
An application has been made to the Council to temporarily close Victoria Road from its junction with Coliemore Road from Monday 4th December until Friday 8th December inclusive. This is to facilitate road works (of no more than 20m) for laying E.S.B, Gas Networks, foul sewer and watermains. A traffic management plan will be in operation (click here to view) and local access will be maintained at all times. Objections can be made in writing to; The Senior Engineer, Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, Traffic Section, County Hall, Marine Road, Dún Laoghaire or by email before 12pm on Tuesday 28th November.

FOOTPATH RESTORATION BEGINS IN MAPAS ROAD & DALKEY PARK
Cllr. Devlin has advised residents that footpath restoration works are underway in their area. Following representations, he has requested the Council to include the very poor section of footpath across the road from Dessie’s shop on Dalkey Park to be included in these repair works. COUNCIL COMPLETES FOOTPATH RESTORATION WORKS IN
AVONDALE PARK & AVONDALE CRESCENT
Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council has appointed contractors to complete the up-grading of the footpaths in the Avondale Park and Avondale Crescent area. Cllr. Devlin has also requested the Council to carry out repairs on sections of the road within the same area. ROAD RESTORATION UNDERWAY IN BALLINCLEA HEIGHTS
Cllr. Devlin has advised residents in Ballinclea Heights that road repairs are set to begin on Monday 4th December and these works will take place between 8am - 6pm for 2 weeks.

COUNCIL APPROVES MORE THAN €529K IN GRANTS
Cllr. Devlin has welcomed the decision by Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown to award 334 groups and associations with more than €529K in Council Grants. "This represents an increase of 40 projects on the previous round plus an increase in the overall funding. These grants form an important part of the operation and running of many of these organisations and festivals. Out of the 438 applications received, 334 have been approved for funding. This round sees many sporting, community, artistic and business groups benefit from the funding. A huge amount of work was put into this project by the staff of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council who held 8 public information workshops in advance of the deadline. I want to commend them on the work that they have done and I congratulate all of the recipients who equally put an enormous amount of work into their respective applications. DEVLIN REQUESTS COUNCIL TO REPAIR BALLINCLEA ROAD RAMPS
At a recent Council meeting, Cllr. Devlin requested the Council to examine and repair the ramps along Ballinclea Road. This was following complaints from local residents and motorists alike that these ramps were too severe. The Council has responded agreeing that 2 were incorrectly installed and will be fixed.
